The fourteenth annual Advent concert of the Gospel Christmas series took place slightly unconventionally in the congress facilities of the Clarion Congress Hotel Ostrava. This year’s concert did not disappoint and brought genuine gospel by prominent soloists and instrumentalists directly from the cradle of this genre, Washington, D.C. in America. Singer and conductor Roderick Giles was brilliant in the accompaniment of his six-member choir Grace.
Singer and conductor Roderick Giles was brilliant in the accompaniment of his six-member choir Grace. Thus, several hundred audience members in the packed hall of the Clarion hotel in Ostrava experienced a unique atmosphere and enjoyed a great music show consisting of the greatest gospel hits including the famous “Oh Happy Day”. Roderick Giles & Grace have had concerts at many noteworthy venues, including the White House, the Capitol and the Kennedy Center in the United States. This was the fourteenth time that the choir came to the Czech Republic on a tour, this year with a pre-Christmas programme during which they visited seven towns in Bohemia and Moravia.
